Success at the Johnny Burke festival

The inaugural Johnny Burke Fleadh or Fleadh Sheáin de Búrca, took place in Claudy, Co. Derry on Saturday 25th March.

Several pupils' from the school went along to compete in the various competitions held.




Aoife was also chosen to represent the school in the art category and won third place. Odhrán won first prize in his age category for his excellent recital of the Irish poem, Froganna. Aoife also performed the poem Froganna. She was marvellous and claimed second place.

We are so proud of our fabulous P.1 pupils.


In P5, Dubhla won 2 medals: 2nd for poetry and 3rdfor the harp. A great achievement!

Primary 6's Sinead Close and Aine McAllister claimed first place in the flute at under 10 and under 12 respectively. Sinead also bagged a double first place by coming top of the pile in the harp. Well done girls!

Rhiannon Comer P7, fought off fierce competition to win a silver medal in the solo singing competition and received some glowing comments from the judges.
