St. Brigid's Day
We celebrated St. Brigid's day by creating our own St. Brigid's crosses.
St. Brigid, also known as "Mary of the Gael”, was an abbess which is the head of an abbey of nuns. She was the founder of the first Irish monastery in County Kildare, Ireland. Born in Dundalk in 450 AD, St Brigid was the first person to create the unique cross which bears her name. This cross is normally hand created from rushes and is thought to keep evil, fire and hunger from the homes in which it is displayed.
